Coach Outing

July 24th, 2014

Coach outing to Frinton on Sea

Saturday 9th August 2014, leaving Barking Station at 8.00am and returning about 7.30pm.

Frinton on Sea is a quiet family beach destination located onthe Essex Sunshine Coast. A gently shelving sandy beach noted for its cleanliness and gentility, the area places special emphasis on relaxed family fun at the seaside. Enjoy walks along the extensive greensward or take a short walk into the town centre with its full range of shopping amenities.  A walk in one direction brings you to Walton on the Naze, a lively seaside resort and in the other direction to Holland Haven Country Park, a local nature reserve.

The beach is located adjacent to the town of Frinton on Sea,the Essex Sunshine Coast.

£10 per person including travel and refreshments

There is a picnic area for those of you who wish to bring their own lunch, there are also plenty of local amenities for you to shop locally..

A 48 seat coach has been provisionally booked but we will need to have 40 confirmed places taken by the 2nd of August for the event to go ahead. Once a ticket has been paid for, should the ticket-holder wish to cancel for any reason it will be their responsibility to find someone to replace them.

Anyone interested in this day out should contact the Club ASAP

Grading July 2014

July 14th, 2014

Our thanks to our examiners Sensei M.Dobson and Sensei T.Cronk for making the grading a good experience, our thanks to ALFA under Sensei Gustis who make the grading what it is, a fantastic examination.

The course went well Sensei Gustis did the warm up and then straight into the Kihon Kata and Kumite..groups were separated according to rank and as there were plenty of instructors, all students went through their syllabus without any problems. All of them had a bit of instruction from both the examiners which was a good experience and calmed the nerves a bit also.

After a 10 min break we had the examination and once finished we had the licences and belt presentation..plus the usual photographs..It was good to see so many parents supporting the event..

That is all for now see you in December for our next big one under Sensei Ohta..

Congratulations to the following students on successfully passing their grade..

UPDATE

June 29th, 2014

Congratulations to our small squad that represented the Club at the Nationals this weekend..Thought we were not as successful as previous years it is a good experience for students as they gain invaluable knowledge for the future, hopefully we will have a much bigger interest next year, those of you that participated need to encourage other students to participate..Well done squad..

Our next upcoming competition will be  towards the end of the year and we will need as a big a squad as we can manage..Our inter-club  competition is now an annual fixture in the calendar, it is very popular amongst students…

——————————————————————————————————————–

Our next grading is on the 12th of July we ask all students to attend the training session those of you grading will be notified this week, you will need to hand in your licence and fee ASAP please.. you will be told if successful this week.

Please note a lot of students will not qualify due to the once  a week training can only grade every 6 months rule, this provided you meet the 85% attendance ( a lot of students are not achieving this at the moment), plus no restrictions on your last grading..

Also note that the one hour training session is for all grades, this change to reflect the availability of the leisure Centre

We will be monitoring the attendance to the training session to see who turns up to support the Club, remember that the Club needs your  volunteering and support. without you we cannot function.

PLEASE NOTE THERE IS NO SATURDAY MORNING LESSON ON THE 12TH JULY DUE TO THE GRADING…

That is all for the moment..

OSS

Note to all students on the importance of handing in paperwork on time, as three students have missed out in competing and representing the Club, we give out as much information as possible and dates for handing in documentation, unfortunately deadlines are there for all to adhere to, meaning that you must hand in your paperwork on time otherwise it is impossible for us to help you..

Moving forward please please look at the dates on the information given to you and adhere to them so that you do not miss out on events at the Club, we rely entirely on you judgement in getting us the paperwork on time ..the less of us participating then the less chances of the events being staged at the club..

As we have stated before events will continue to be regular at the Club provided there is sufficient support for them..at the moment we are getting minimal support and this needs to be improved by all of us..Parents friends and specially students..

PASS SHODAN

May 5th, 2014

Pass Shodan

These words coming from our Chief Instructor are the most sought after, students training are rewarded after years of training and sacrificies in and out of the Dojo if succesful..

We are delighted to be able to pass on to all the good news that Stanislav  ‘Stan’ Ryaidinskiy passed his 1st Dan grade  at the International Spring course this weekend.

As Instructors we all share the reponsibility of making sure that students are ready but it is down to the student to be able to calm nerves be free of injury etc to be able to perform at the highest level..

Not everybody passes and some are lucky enought to get Kata or Kumite only this means they go back to the Dojo and train some more and retake Dan grading again, there is no set rule in getting your Dan grade,  some people are lucky enough to get it first time,  some the second time, but at the end a pass is a pass…some food for thought some students went away with having to retake everything again ….

We are very proud and humble that one of our own has passed, all the Instructors and indeed the Club will join us in wishing this young man all the best for the future, it is a privilige and a great honour to teach you all. we hope we can help you achieve al  you can be and more..
