Please do not forget that Friday Class at Becontree Heath Leisure Centre 7-8 pm will be ongoing throughout the summer, everyone is invited to join this class to train, we go back to our normal timetable first week in September.

Welcome

To everybody joining this years summer Karate programme run by East London JKA Karate Club in conjunction with London Borough of Barking & Dagenham.

This free programme will run from the 29th July until the 2nd of  September, ( six week course ).

Students will have the option of joining the Club after the six weeks, please note that normal charges will apply after this period.

Classes are on Fridays 7-8 pm at Becontree Heath Leisure Centre.

Ages 5-18

Countdown, part of London 2012 Open Weekend

Don’t miss this action packed weekend to mark one year to go until the London 2012 Games and grand opening of Becontree Heath Leisure Centre.

The event is part of Create 11 a four week festival of home-grown, world-class arts for all across East and South East London.

This year Countdown includes a whole weekend of fun and events including:

Countdown Wipeout Team Challenge – Friday 22 July

Countdown Family Fun Day – Saturday 23 July

Triathlon – Sunday 24 July

  • Prove you’re the fittest team in Barking and Dagenham
  • Open to clubs, businesses and voluntary organisations

  • Please ensure all team members are confident in the water
  • £20 per team proceeds to Living the Dream Trust
  • Trophy and tickets to the Lee Valley White Water Centre for the winning team

We have entered 1 team  to represent East London JKA Karate Club.

A big thank you to everyone that came and enjoyed a fun day out at the Championship’s.

A big thank you to our Club squad who were outstanding this year, scooping a few unexpected medals along the way, on the whole the squad performed phenomenaly and we are extremely happy for all of them.

New Class

June 12th, 2011

We are pleased to announce a new Class on Fridays 7-8pm at the new Becontree Heath Leisure Centre.

We have worked very hard to get a place at this venue and we are very pleased to announce a joint venture, a six week beginners course sponsored by Barking & Dagenham council beginning  second week in July. (Course forms part of the council’s summer sports fun programme).

We encourage all Club students to fully support this new venture as we need to establish ourselves in Barking & Dagenham with new students.

Becontree Heath Leisure Centre,  Althorne Way,  Dagenham,  RM10 7FH.

Bus No 5 ,Longbridge road , Wood lane, come off at bus stop after Morrisons Supermarket near old dagenham swiming pool.

Stations

Barking can take bus No 5 from here Becontree Heath  (catch 62 then 128 from Green lane) and Chadwell Heath Rail Station (catch 62 then 128 up Green Lane).

Japan Appeal

East London JKA Karate Club Appeal

We would like to express our sympathy and regret to current events in Japan and send our thoughts and prayers to all affected.

East London JKA Karate Club politely requests monetary donations from all its members & friends. The charity money raised will be sent to the sufferers of the earthquake through JKA England. Please donate your money when attending normal training sessions.

We thank you for your kindness and help with this most  worthy cause.

Update on Japan appeal

We would like to inform all Club members and friends that we have now deposited £250 in the Red Cross Japan Appeal following instructions from JKA England’s  treasurer Mr Marchant-Jones.

LESSON CHANGES APRIL/MAY/JUNE 2011

Please note changes below

Saturday the 28th May lesson has been cancelled.

Monday the 30th May lesson has been cancelled

Thusday the 26th May lesson will now run on Tuesday the 24th May.

Thursday the 2nd June lesson will now run on Tuesday the 31st May.

Our most sincere apologies for not being able to run lessons on these dates, however, please note that there are alternative lessons for the students during the week as Wednesday lessons are not affected as an example.

These changes are due to the Centres being booked for local weddings/ family private parties and course attendance.
