Congratulations to Aaron Storey in passing his Coaching License assessment at the Spring Course a fortnight ago..

Aaron will now join the Instructors Pool as a qualified Instructor..

Well done Aaron we are all very proud of you..

Aaron joined the Club  on one of our council summer programmes as a beginner and is an excellent role model for all the youngsters to follow..He has quietly gone about his training attaining Shodan (black belt) last year, he studies and trains very hard..

We as a Club are very fortunate to have him, as his Chief Instructor I am very humbled to have played a small part in his development so far. For anyone of such tender years to have achieved all he has in such a short time is nothing short of remarkable.

Dear all

Just to update everyone as we have a few very important activities for June in our Calendar..

1. JKA England Nationals 2016 on the 25th of June at K2 in Crawley.. Costs will be £12 for individual KATA or KUMITE  / £20 to enter both categories. In addition the Club will enter 2-3 Club teams to compete at no cost to the students that are selected to represent the Club..( we will have one more Club squad session to cover this).
2. Regarding Nationals transportation , unfortunately we are unable to offer this as an option , students will need to make their own way to K2 Leisure Centre in Crawley ( speak to  an Instructor, we may have car space available ).
3. Schools summer Fetes..We have been approached by several local Schools to do a martial arts display at their Fetes..We will ask graded students to help us out and volunteer to come to these events to help promote the Club within the local  community.. Letters will be handed out to give more detailed information..

Please note that we are taking names and fees for the Nationals (deadline 06//07/16 ) and names only for the Summer Fetes..

Congratulations to all the students that attended the course over the weekend..We had  fantastic training alongside International students from Norway Spain Canada Serbia Denmark Estonia Germany etc.

We had tuition from Kawada Sensei 8th Dan JKA Ohta Sensei 7th Dan JKA Hirayama Sensei 6th Dan JKA & Nemoto Sensei 5th Dan JKA

All the students will agree that the course is well worth participating, we had warm ups, kihon, kata & kumite in addition we got to see friendly countries competition , kyu gradings..Also held International qualification tests Dan Gradings photo sessions groups and individual..

Time: 1.45 pm to 4.30pm

Cost £3

Grade:  All grades course

Course will cover  the basics for competition covering rules and regulations for individual kata and kumite plus team kata.

3^rd Kyus and above to wear mits and gumshields for their sparring..
