To all our fantastic squad that took part at the Nationals this year..though we did not do as well as other years the competition this year was extremely hard as there were a lot more entries..
Special Congratulations go to KOYES UDDIN 3rd Place Boys Sanbon Kumite 13-15 years 9th-7th Kyu and AARON STOREY 1st Place Childrens Kata 13-15 years 6th-7th kyu..
Thank you to our coach Sensei Williams for his dedication and preparation of the squad.
Well done to all, we now need to prepare ourselves for the 10th anniversary Cup competition.. Good Luck to Everyone and look out for special training sessions..

We have today received the entry forms for JKA England National Karate Championship’s.
The event is open to ALL GRADES, there are over 50 categories to participate in.
We encourage everyone to represent the Club and get involved.. Entry fee is £15 for Kata & Kumite..

Our next two events are very close together we have our Club Grading quickly followed by Nationals..
Club Grading is on the 23rd June with Sensei M Dobson 4th Dan JKA @ Robert Clack School Leisure Centre.
The JKA England National Karate Championship will be Held on the 29th June!
Please put both dates in your calendar as everyone is encouraged to attend! Start Practising now!
We need 45 names if we are to hire a coach for the Nationals travel cost will be £10 per seat…(competitors wil need to pay their competition fee separately)..

We have had some students and parents approach during courses and grading asking about a summer get together as a Club somewhere this year during summer.
In all honesty this is something that could be organised and I think if there is enough interest we can get together and organise things..
So there you have it two things we will need to get this going… a) your name and number of possible participants b) a venue where we could do this…
I think the general feel is for the use of a park as an outing…we could all bring our picnic and share some food and company and chatter..
So for the next two weeks put your thinking caps on and let us know where you would like to go hopefully on a dry day.
If you let me know I will set up a list and we will make a decision by the end of May… my preference Valentines Park in Ilford..August 24 or 25th but will go with the mayority’s decision.

It is with regret that we have to announce that Sydney Rusell Leisure Centre will not have a lesson anymore.. Our last session will be on the 24th May, this is due to the falling numbers of students sadly we have have reached a stage wher we can no longer make a case for sustaining a lesson there.
Students that are left will need to move to Becontree Heath Leisure Centre and join the Class there (7-8pm)..
Please note from the 7th of June there will be two classes at Becontree Heath Leisure Centre 6-7 pm beginners to purple belts 7-8 pm brown belts and bove..

URGENT REMINDER
Can all students please make a note that the next JKA event is around the corner.
Our 10th Anniversary International Spring Course will run from Friday the 3rd to Monday the 5th of May 2013
Instructors this special year will be Sensei Osaka 8th Dan, Sensei Aoki 7th Dan, Sensei Hansaki 7th Dan, Sensei Takahashi 6th Dan and our own Sensei Ohta 7th Dan
WE CALL AND ENCOURAGE ALL OUR STUDENTS TO COME AND TRAIN AT THIS FANTASTIC SEMINAR.. WE APPRECIATE NOT EVERYONE WILL BE ABLE TO DO ALL 4 DAYS BUT MOST OF YOU CAN DO THE WEEKEND..
Anyone participating please let the Club know as we are canvassing numbers..All high grades to attend a minimun of two days, anyone envisaging shodan later on in the year must attend all 4 days..
We will not be hiring a coach or van, as most of the times we have done, we have not had a full quota of students on the seats, you will have to make your own way there…
If you are going and have a spare seat available please let other students know so you may share rides..

This will be an all day affair 10am to 4.00pm approx.
Students need to see Sensei Williams who is the Club Coach for selection and training.
Squad sessions on Saturday the 30th March and 6th April after regular Class.
We expect a high turnout for this one….
All green belts and above must attend these sessions and compete at the Inter Club.
