Club Activity Report

July 12th, 2015

As some of you are aware we had an invitation from Scott Wilkie Primary School in Newham to put on an exhibition and teach their students the basics of Karate.

East London JKA took a small ream to represent the Club and put on a display on the day.

On Monday the 6th July we are glad to report that we had an excellen turnout and did our outmost to display a good standard of Martial Arts.

Congratulations to the team Leah Bhudia,Ria Ashani, Samuel Parson,Lucas Denyer, Mizanul Islam, Stanislav Ryadinskiy, who were outstanding on a very mature display under very hot conditions.

Under the guidance of our Chief Instructor the team performed  a variety of Basics (Kihon), Forms (Kata) and Set Sparring (Kumite)..

Overall they had to do their display six times as we had sets of around twenty students coming round the various stations set out for them on their Sports Day, ours being one of several.

Over 120 students were taught by us that day, the feedback has been excellent and we were thanked by the School’s Sports Coach for an excellent Class.

A remarkable  achievement by us as a club and great team spirit from our students, who volunteered their time to make this possible, we cannot thank you enough.

Hopefully as a Club we will benefit from this contribution to Scott Wilkie’s Sports Day as some students were impressed by our display and showed keen interest in doing  further Classes.

All our details were left with the school in order to help students wishing to become members of East London JKA Karate Club.

This is all for the moment..

JKA National Championships 27th June 2015 – I suffered the M25 today and a sign said “Major event 27th June Junction 10”. I don’t think they meant our championships at K2, so if you’re going there next Saturday allow for extra traffic!

Not so hush News

May 1st, 2015

Just a short note for everyone

We are delighted to announce that one of our own at the Club has succesfully finished the London Virgin Marathon last weekend.

Our own Chief Instructor Carlos has been quietly training during the winter months to be able to attempt the 26 mile course..

In his own words “It is one of the hardest things I have done in my life, never once did it enter my mind not finishing the distance, as my Karate training   pulled me through this tough test”, preparying for this was extremely difficult and at times very hard, could not have done it without our weekly parkrun in Barking..

A great way to keep fit Park run will help with your fitness for all preparying to take a grading, thorughly recommended for all of you.

We would also like to mention that two Club members will attempt Dan grade at the International course this weekend , we wish them all the best.

Keep training remember make it FUN FUN FUN..
